What is a Thermal Break?

A thermal break is essentially a continuous barrier between the inside and outside section of the frame, this barrier works to prevent conductive thermal energy loss.

In our thermally broken frame systems, an element of low thermal conductivity is placed inside our commercial-grade frames to reduce the flow of energy between the interior/exterior aluminium extrusions. This non-conductive material is known as a Technoform Thermal Break and is made of fibreglass reinforced polyamide, with glass fibers oriented in 3 directions for optimum structural performance.

The same principles have been used in Europe for over thirty years and we are proud to be able to offer this product to our clients. Using this system, we are able to achieve challenging structural and energy requirements to help maximise the performance of your building envelope.
